KANHA NATIONAL PARK in Madhya Pradesh, India was built in 1955 and declared to be a wildlife sanctuary and a national park in 1933. It was declared as a center of Tiger Reserve and the park was divided into two parts namely Banjar Sanctuary and Hallon Sanctuary in 1930. The park is situated in eastern Himalayas foothills placed in the district of Mandla & Balaghat. The simply amazing Kanha National Park with its astonishing flora and fauna will take your breath away. The park covers a vast area of about 940 km sq. and houses species of animals, plants and birds. This Tiger Reserve has beautiful characteristics that can only be seen after visiting. The park gives inspiration to people by a popular novel named as 'The Jungle Book' written by Rudyard Kipling. The park is usually closed on Wednesdays. The park has the following animal species:
