Lakshman Jhula is a huge iron Bridge on jute ropes across river Ganga and is located 4 Kms away from Rishikesh Railway station. This hanging bridge was constructed in 1939 and is about 450 feet long. Legend states that Lakshman, younger brother of Lord Ram, crossed River Ganga from here on jute rope. Later on, a bridge was constructed in the honor of Lakshman and was named after him.

Numerous temples and shrines can be found across this huge bride. The legendary tale associated with the bride and the irresistible beauty of temples around the bridge impels the tourist to be a part of this unique legend. A similar bride named as Ram Jhula was also built in 1980 by the government. Ram Jhula is also known as Shivananda Jhula.
